Finnish champion in skiing, Anni Alakoski, 27, announced unfortunate news on her Instagram regarding her season being over due to a foot injury that requires immediate surgery. Alakoski, who competed in the World Cup in Ruka at the end of November, finished in 39th place in the women’s 10 km (p) time trial. Just two weeks earlier, she had a promising performance, ranking 11th in an international competition in Oloksella. She expressed her desire to overcome this setback with the support of her professional team, which includes notable athletes like Lauri Lepistö and Krista Pärmäkoski. Alakoski had previously won gold in the Finnish Championships in team sprints last February and holds multiple medals in her career.
