Federation Error Caused Confusion Around Skistad's Participation: – Just to Apologize

The Norwegian Ski Federation made an error by including Kristine Stavås Skistad on the start list for Sunday’s 20-kilometer race in France. This mistake prompted an apology from leader Per Elias Kalfoss just before the race began. Kalfoss clarified that the confusion occurred due to a registration error as he pressed the wrong buttons, leading to an inappropriate entry for Skistad.

This unfortunate situation highlighted a lack of communication within the federation, and Kalfoss expressed his regret for any implications this error had, especially for those athletes in Norway who might have wished to take Skistad's place.

Notably, Skistad won a sprint race in France on Saturday, marking her first World Cup competition since an abdominal operation in November. Her strong performance reaffirms her status as Norway's top hope for women’s sprint events at the upcoming World Championships in Trondheim next month, making her return to competition timely and significant.

The error regarding her participation is unwelcome news as she prepares for this crucial upcoming event.
