In a dramatic 10 kilometer classic event, William Poromaa and Edvin Anger both aimed for medals but ended close to the podium. After putting in a strong performance, Poromaa faltered in the last 800 meters, losing valuable seconds. According to svt's ski expert Anders Blomquist, Poromaa's performance was commendable given the tough conditions. He noted that while Poromaa was in great shape initially, the difficult snow hindered his chance for a medal, especially against competitors like Klæbo, who are exceptionally strong. Anger also demonstrated impressive skills but missed out on medals due to the challenging weather. Blomquist remarked that had the circumstances been different, Anger might have clinched a medal as well. Both skiers' finishes were seen as significant achievements considering the competition's intensity and conditions.
