Erik Valnes Wins the 15 km Race in Val di Fiemme; Hugo Lapalus and Rémi Bourdin Finish in Top 10

Erik Valnes of Norway won the 15 km classic race on Saturday during the World Cup event at Val di Fiemme (Italy). He triumphed in a sprint finish ahead of Swedish skier William Poromaa and Swiss competitor Cyril Fähndrich. Valnes’ victory came during the sixth stage of the 2023-2024 Tour de Ski.

French skiers also performed well, with Hugo Lapalus finishing in 8th place and Rémi Bourdin in 9th.

This race did not alter the overall standings in the Tour de Ski, which remains led by Norwegian Harald Oestberg Amundsen, maintaining a 1:34 lead over Valnes and a 1:42 lead over Martin Loewstroem Nyenget. Lapalus is positioned 4th, trailing Amundsen by 1:47.

The final stage of the Tour de Ski will take place on Sunday, also in Val di Fiemme, featuring a free style climb set to start at 14:30.
