Edvin Anger is one of the best cross-country skiers in the world.
But he is significantly larger than most of his competitors – a weapon he uses on the track.
- I can generate more watts in my poles than a lighter person, says Edvin Anger.
He is a head taller and considerably heavier than several of his competitors in the cross-country skiing World Cup. Still, he has impressed greatly during the 2024/25 season, achieving several top placements.
- I have to utilize what I have. And in many situations, it’s an advantage. I have surprised myself, says the 22-year-old in Morgonstudion.
For the second consecutive year in the total World Cup, Anger was the best U23 skier. In 2024, he finished 17th overall in the World Cup - but this year, he made a significant leap to second place in the overall standings behind the dominant Johannes Høsflot Klæbo. In addition, the Swede took two bronzes at the World Championships in Norway's Trondheim, in the sprint relay and the relay.
Edvin Anger fell ill after the World Cup final and is not yet fit enough to compete in this weekend's SM championships.
