After twenty kilometers, Ebba Andersson managed to defend her world title on the skiathlon in a thrilling photo finish at Trondheim. The Swede edged past Norwegian Therese Johaug by a mere millimeter. French skier Flora Dolci also performed well, securing a respectable 15th place.
The women's skiathlon event turned into a nail-biter as the final lap saw a tense showdown. After a fall involving two other competitors, Andersson and Johaug were left to battle for the title. In the electrifying finish, both athletes raced neck-and-neck until they reached the line, necessitating a photo finish to determine the winner.
With a winning time of 47'57''1, Andersson retained her title against Johaug, who matched her time exactly, followed by compatriot Jonna Sundling at 10 seconds behind. Norwegian skier Astrid Oeyre Slind, who led after the classical segment, faced significant challenges during the ski exchange and finished 8th.
Flora Dolci's performance was commendable as she equaled her career-best result in the skiathlon, finishing 15th and demonstrating the strength of French skiing on the world stage.
