Ebba Andersson Has an Advantage in Ski Classics According to Anders Blomquist

A thrilling face-off awaits in the final races of Ski Classics, as the queen of long-distance skiing, Stina Nilsson, squares off against the reigning world champion, Ebba Andersson, in two challenging events.

As in previous years, several World Cup skiers have opted to wrap up their seasons with a final race in Ski Classics. SVT's expert, Anders Blomquist, is looking forward to the showdown between these stars.

"She has a significant advantage," Blomquist states to SVT Sport.

Analysis of the Duel

Blomquist predicts that the competition will be fierce, especially given the recent performances of both athletes. The last two competitions of Ski Classics will take place in Norway at the Reistadløpet (46 km) and the season finale in Bardufoss-Finnsnes (60 km).

"Snow conditions and the choice to ski with or without grip can play crucial roles in the outcomes," Blomquist emphasizes. Stina Nilsson, who is in great form, has won her last three races. However, Blomquist notes that changing weather could give an advantage to Nilsson and others who choose to rely on their classic style.

"If the conditions shift dramatically for those using grip, it could create opportunities for Nilsson and her contemporaries," he believes.

Past Performances by Ebba Andersson

Ebba Andersson has impressed in Ski Classics, having won all three previous races, including the Reistadløpet in 2022. The Fjälltoppsloppet, which she also won, was a part of the challenger tour rather than the professional circuit.
