Early Snow Track Opening for Free and Traditional Skiing in Puijo Next Week
Originally published in Yle on October 31, 2024
The ski season at Kuopio's Puijo will kick off next Friday, November 3, with the opening of the early snow track designed for both free and traditional skiing styles. The track is 1.5 kilometers long, featuring a traditional lane on the right side, and will remain open around the clock, aside from daily maintenance from 2 PM to 2:30 PM. Lights will illuminate the track from 7 AM to 9 PM.
As in previous years, access to the early snow track requires a fee until natural snow conditions allow for regular skiing in the area. The city of Kuopio will update the public regarding fee abolition on its website and through its social media channels. Tickets can be purchased at the customer service desk of the Kuopio Hall starting Monday, November 4, from 11:30 AM to 7 PM, or via the Mobilepay application.
