In the concluding 50 km race at the World Championships in Trondheim, Therese Johaug was unable to secure the gold medal she had aimed for before a home crowd. The renowned Norwegian star finished third, merely three seconds behind winner Frida Karlsson and two seconds behind silver medalist Heidi Weng.

Johaug commented on her performance, expressing, "It’s a championship where it just wasn’t meant to be for me, I had dreamed of gold."

Despite the tough conditions of deep snow in Trondheim, Johaug's comeback this season was with the goal of achieving remarkable results at the home World Championships. This event marks a significant moment in her career as she navigates competing at a high level after her return.
