Norway's men's team achieved a remarkable triple victory in the men's 10 kilometer race at the World Championships, but despite the success, the event was marked by notable disappointments.

Johannes Høsflot Kläbo celebrated winning gold in the interval start race, marking his first victory in this format and his second Olympic gold overall. He had also secured a victory in the combined race last Saturday.

Following Kläbo were Erik Valnes, who finished second, and Harald Østberg Amundsen, taking third.

However, the team was not without its setbacks. With the absence of Iivo Niskanen, Martin Löwström Nyenget, once viewed as a strong contender, collapsed to fifth place, trailing Kläbo by 14 seconds. Nyenget attributed his fall to heart rhythm irregularities that manifested unexpectedly during the race.

"I have experienced similar feelings in a couple of trainings over the last two years. However, I've never experienced this during a competition before. But I think it was that this time," Krüger speculated.

Coach Eirik Myhr Nossum confirmed that Krüger had faced these symptoms previously.

Valnes, who claimed silver, touched on his emotional struggles after having to skip the opening sprint event due to back issues, shedding tears during the Yle interview as he reflected on the pressures of the competition.

"I had trained for this competition for many years, so this is a tough moment for me," Valnes lamented.

Kläbo's achievements now bring his total to 12 World Championship golds, just one shy of Petter Northug’s remarkable record. He looks ahead to potentially claiming six golds at the upcoming competition in his home town Trondheim, with events still remaining in sprint, relay, and the 50 kilometers freestyle.

"Kläbo is phenomenal. He is the best skier I've ever seen. He will likely claim all the golds at this championship," forecasted Calle Halfvarsson from Sweden.
