World Championships in Trondheim 2025 – Schedule and Swedish Team
The 2025 World Championships in cross-country skiing will be held in Trondheim, Norway from 26 February to 9 March. In a bid to win new medals, Sweden is sending a strong team, with athletes such as Frida Karlsson and Ebba Andersson among the favorites. Norwegian cross-country skiing legend Therese Johaug is also making a championship comeback, this time on home turf.
Schedule for the Cross-Country Events
26 February: - 13:30 – Qualifying race, 7.5 km for women - 15:30 – Qualifying race, 7.5 km for men
27 February: - 10:00 – Sprint qualification for both women and men - 12:30 – Sprint finals for both women and men
1 March: - 14:00 – Skiathlon 20 km (10 km classical + 10 km free) for men
2 March: - 14:00 – Skiathlon 20 km (10 km classical + 10 km free) for women
4 March: - 13:00 – 10 km classical, individual start for men - 15:30 – 10 km classical, individual start for women
5 March: - 11:00 – Team sprint qualification for both women and men - 12:20 – Team sprint finals for both women and men
6 March: - 13:00 – Men's 4x7.5 km relay
7 March: - 15:15 – Women's 4x7.5 km relay
8 March: - 11:30 – 50 km free style mass start (men)
9 March: - 11:30 – 50 km free style mass start (women)

Additional Championship Disciplines
In Trondheim, the World Championships will cover not only cross-country skiing but also ski jumping, Nordic combined, and para cross-country skiing.
Looking Back at 2023
At the previous World Championships in 2023 in Planica, Slovenia, Sweden secured a total of twelve medals. Highlights included golds for Jonna Sundling in the sprint, a double gold for Ebba Andersson in the 15 km skiathlon and the 30 km mass start, and a team gold in the relay. Silver and bronze medals were also collected in various events.
