Alexander Ståhlberg, a remarkable 22-year-old talent in cross-country skiing and a youth world championship medalist, recently electrified the competition at the Finnish National Cross Country Running Championships. Competing in the men's 22-year-old category, Ståhlberg made a stunning sprint to victory, edging past the favored Matias Mononen in a thrilling final stretch.

Three years ago, at the Vuokatti Youth World Ski Championships, Ståhlberg earned acclaim by securing three medals, showcasing his extraordinary talent early on. For this recent running event, he prepared diligently with a dedicated group of endurance runners in Vöyri, benefiting from the expert guidance of coaches Tom Andtbacka and Joakim Träskelin. This training ensemble included prominent athletes such as Nathalie Blomqvist, who recently achieved the second-fastest time by a Finnish woman in the 5,000 meters.

Even with his recent triumph in running, Ståhlberg maintains a strong dedication to cross-country skiing. Drawing inspiration from fellow skier Iivo Niskanen, he regards these running pursuits as essential training to enhance his skiing performance. Having encountered various challenges in recent years, Ståhlberg is wisely refraining from setting concrete goals for the upcoming skiing season, choosing instead to concentrate on delivering his best efforts in every competition he undertakes.
