Emma Ribom, a standout cross-country sprinter and gold medalist in the team sprint at the 2023 World Championships in Planica, has candidly shared the challenges she faced during a tough summer of training. Struggling with a persistent injury that limited her ability to train effectively, Ribom has found herself grappling with both frustration and mental fatigue throughout this ordeal.

The trouble began in early July when an injury arose, leading her to initially believe that some rest would be enough for recovery. Recently, however, Ribom celebrated a small victory; she has been able to fully utilize her roller skis for the first time in weeks, having had to rely heavily on running as her main form of training during her rehab.

She explained that the injury was a muscle issue near her tailbone, likely caused by overexertion. As the winter season approaches, Ribom is focused on regaining her form and has her sights set on competing strongly at the World Championships in Trondheim.
