Cross-Country Skiing: Edvin Anger Tops Swedish Results – Ben Ogden Wins Sprint Qualifying in Lillehammer

In Lillehammer, the men's sprint qualifying round was competitive. Edvin Anger secured a ninth-place finish, with American skier Ben Ogden emerging victorious.

— "It feels good to feel fast, especially in Norway," Ogden shared with SVT Sport.

After finishing 32nd in Ruka, Ogden did not even progress to the finals, but he claimed the qualifying round in Lillehammer, beating Johannes Høsflot Klæbo by half a second. Ogden ultimately finished fourth in his quarterfinal heat and did not continue to the semifinals.

Klæbo was cleared to compete in the sprint that morning after suffering from cold symptoms following the Ruka premiere. He later won the sprint final.

Tough Day for the Swedish Team

Only Edvin Anger (ninth) and Emil Danielsson (19th) advanced from the Swedish competitors. Anger commented, "After a hectic week where I haven't been at my best, it felt good."

Like Ogden, Anger was eliminated in the quarterfinals, finishing third in his heat. Competitors Marcus Grate, Johan Häggström, Oskar Svensson, and Anton Grahn were all eliminated.
