Ebba Andersson continued to showcase her excellent form as she prepared for the upcoming World Championships in Trondheim. Over the weekend in Falun, the World Cup event concluded with a freestyle mass start – the last race before the Worlds. In a tightly contested group of five frontrunners – Ebba Andersson, Jessie Diggins, Nora Sanness, Heidi Weng, and Victoria Carl – strategies and pacing played a crucial role.

Ebba explained that her plan was to begin increasing her pace on the third lap after a period of patience. Once she accelerated, the pack broke open and, as the number of competitors dwindled, she managed to finish third after a final sprint. The race saw Victoria Carl fall after breaking a ski pole, which reduced the field further. American Jessie Diggins surged ahead to take the win, with Heidi Weng following in second place.

Expressing satisfaction with her performance, Andersson noted that the race had felt very stable and that her effort was a strong form signal ahead of the World Championships set to begin on February 26 in Trondheim. With podium finishes in two races over the weekend, her outlook for the season’s major event remains very positive.
