Cross-country Skiing: Ebba Andersson Dominates Sweden's Season Opener

Ebba Andersson set full speed from the start and crushed the competition in the 10-kilometer freestyle event at the Swedish season opener held in Bruksvallarna. The 27-year-old skier won decisively on Sunday, finishing a remarkable 54 seconds ahead of Maja Dahlqvist, who followed in second place.

"It's an outstanding showcase of superior class," commented SVT's Anders Blomquist.

From beginning to end, Andersson maintained her lead, hitting the halfway point with a comfortable 30 seconds in front of Dahlqvist. This victory marked her second of the weekend, having previously triumphed in the classic 10-kilometer race where she also bested Frida Karlsson by 12 seconds.

Andersson felt good about her performances and noted, "It feels like the starting point for this season is at a good level, and I look forward to what’s to come." Notably, Frida Karlsson skipped Sunday’s race to conserve energy for the World Cup opener in Ruka next weekend.
