Norwegian cross-country skier Kristine Stavås Skistad will be sidelined for an indefinite period following abdominal surgery she underwent last Friday. According to the team doctor, she will miss at least the World Cup opener in Ruka scheduled for late November. Kristine had a successful surgery and is looking forward to the World Championships in Trondheim later this season. She will be undergoing rehabilitation and recovery training in the coming weeks. Team doctor Ove Feragen mentioned that Kristine prefers not to disclose further details about the surgery, other than it was necessary and came up rather suddenly. This marks a challenging start to the season for the accomplished 25-year-old, who was expected to be one of the main competitors in the upcoming ski events.
