Clear Victory for Edvin Anger in Skiing Premiere: "I Have Never Felt This Strong"
Edvin Anger made a remarkable entrance in the skiing season premiere held in Bruksvallarna, demonstrating his dominance in the sprint final. He won decisively, finishing over a second ahead of the second-place finisher, Marcus Grate.
After his win, Anger sent a message to his Norwegian competitors in anticipation of the upcoming World Cup premiere next weekend, stating, "There is more to challenge the Norwegians with."
Anger secured the lead before the final stretch in the freestyle sprint and claimed his victory confidently.
"I have never felt this strong; it's a positive feeling," he remarked in a broadcast interview following his win.
Next week, Anger will compete again in Ruka, where classical sprinting is on the schedule, contrasting today's skate style.
He expressed his excitement, saying, "It’ll be really fun to race there and see what my body can give; actually, classic has felt even better, so that gives me confidence. There are many exciting World Cups coming up before Christmas."
In the sprint, Emil Danielsson finished third, while veteran Calle Halfvarsson had to withdraw from the competition due to back issues. Notably, Anton Grahn suffered a post-finish crash in the final but was unharmed.
