After a disappointing showing by the Swedish team at the 10 km freestyle race in Lillehammer, Calle Halfvarsson reflected on the struggles, noting, "It is really everything that is not working." The top six positions in the race were dominated by Norwegian skiers, with William Poromaa being the highest-placed Swedish athlete at 20th place, over a minute behind the winner Martin Löwström Nyenget.
