Calle Halfvarsson finished 12th in the World Cup premiere. The Swedish skier is still suffering from back problems.
"It feels like getting a knife in the back," he said after the race.
After missing the Sweden premiere in Bruksvallarna due to back issues, Calle Halfvarsson returned to the World Cup premiere in Ruka. However, his back continues to cause discomfort.
“It was a bit scary to have this beforehand,” said Halfvarsson.
He ended up finishing in 12th place.
“It was very tough, and I did not have a great race. It’s difficult to be so far behind. There’s more to give and more to pull from. It's not that I'm doing a top race and still 40 seconds behind Niskanen. So in that sense, it’s good,” he said.
