In a remarkable performance at the Finnish Cup held in Iisalmi, Olivia Puranen, the 17-year-old protégé of pop star Antti Tuisku, demonstrated her skiing prowess by anchoring her team to a relay victory.

Formerly racing in the 3 x 5 kilometer traditional style, AT Ski Team surged to the forefront after Puranen's impressive leg, where she initially competed behind Tampereen Pyrinnön but quickly made her way ahead with a stunning finish, ultimately winning with a 16-second lead.

Puranen expressed excitement about the race, stating, "I was surprised at how well I performed, even though I didn’t feel my best beforehand."

The relay team also included Vilma Jylhä and Emmi Lämsä, with Puranen being the fastest competitor among the three. The second-place team from Teho Ski Team included Emma Hämäläinen, Nora Kytäjä, and the successful Vilma Ryytty.

AT Ski Team is increasingly recognized for its vibrant team spirit and competitive spirit, as emphasized by Lämsä, who noted, “The good atmosphere in our club fuels our performance. When the environment is enjoyable, it reflects positively on our performance during the race.”

The relay win is yet another highlight for Tuisku’s team, as they continue to make waves in Finnish skiing circles.
