Norway’s ski federation announced on Tuesday that Anne Kjersti Kalvå has been named to the Norwegian team for the World Championships in Trondheim, which begin on February 26. Although the rest of the squad had been confirmed earlier, Kalvå secured the final spot in the team.

Kalvå’s start to the season was challenging, but she has recently found good form in the women’s World Cup circuit. Last Sunday, she finished seventh in a 10-kilometer freestyle race in Cogno, Italy, and just a week earlier she placed fourth in a 20-kilometer mass start race in Engadin, Switzerland.

Her previous World Championships outings have also been successful. Two years ago in Planica, she was on the verge of winning gold in the relay before ultimately securing silver in the 30-kilometer classical race as well as the relay event.

With her recent performances, Kalvå’s inclusion—albeit as the final member—reinforces the strength of the Norwegian team as they head into the highly competitive international event in Trondheim.
