Frederick Arthur Crosetto, aged 61, took part in the sprint qualifications at the World Championships in cross-country skiing in Trondheim, Norway. Despite not being among the fastest and finishing in 182nd (last) place with a time of 5 minutes 14.11 seconds—well behind the leader and future Norwegian winner Johannes Hoesflot Klaebo (who clocked 2 minutes 36.32 in qualifications)—Crosetto achieved his goal of representing Malta at the World Championships.

Earlier that Wednesday afternoon, Crosetto had also taken part in the individual classical qualifications over a 7.5 km course. These qualifications allowed athletes from smaller nations to earn a spot in the men's 10 km race on March 4, competing alongside top international contenders.

The World Championships in Nordic skiing will continue until Sunday, March 9, with further events broadcast on L'Équipe.
