Six Alaska skiers have been named to the U.S. Team for the 2025 Cross Country World Championships, which will be held in Trondheim, Norway, from February 27 to March 9.

Headlining the team is Olympian Rosie Brennan, a seasoned competitor with five World Championship appearances and a member of the APU Elite Team. On the women’s side, UAF skier Kendall Kramer, along with Jessie Diggins, Julia Kern, Sophia Laukli, Alayna Sonnesyn, and Kate Oldham—who all earned titles at recent U.S. National Championships in Anchorage—will represent the United States.

The men’s team is equally strong with APU Nordic Ski Center University and Elite Team members Gus Schumacher, JC Schoonmaker, Zanden McMullen, and Luke Jager, the latter also having been crowned national champion in classic sprints. They join teammates John Steel Hagenbuch, Ben Ogden, Zak Ketterson, and Jack Young on the squad.

The World Championships will feature four individual races—a 20K skiathlon, a 10K classic, a 50K skate, and a skate sprint—as well as two team events (a team sprint and a 4x7.5K relay). This biennial event is a major fixture on the international cross-country skiing calendar.
