The Ski World Championships in Trondheim this winter have sold 100,000 tickets so far, as reported by Adresseavisen. This milestone is welcomed news, as the Norwegian organizers had hoped to reach this number ahead of the final inspection by the International Ski Federation (FIS) on October 15. "Therefore, we are very pleased to reach this milestone," said Championship Director Åge Skinstad.
Skinstad also mentioned that interest in the cross-country relays, the 50-kilometer race, and ski jumping is particularly high. During the previous World Championships in Holmenkollen in 2011, 100,000 tickets were sold by the end of October the year before the event.
"Given the recent excitement around cross-country skiing, it's quite exciting to see that we are on the same level as then," Skinstad added. The goal is to sell 220,000 tickets. The championships will take place from February 26 to March 9, 2025.
