Tandrevold Back After Heart Surgery – Christiansen Dropped

Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold is included in the team for the biathlon competitions in Oberhof in January. It is not yet confirmed whether she will compete after her heart surgery.

Norway's Biathlon Federation announced the squad for the events in Germany. Both Tandrevold and Juni Arnekleiv are included for the women. Tandrevold faced heart issues during the season opener and has since missed competitions. This weekend, she announced that she had undergone a successful operation.

Team head Per Arne Botnan stated, "We’re taking Ingrid and hope she can be ready after her heart procedure last week. But the final assessment will be made closer to the date."

Vetle Sjåstad Christiansen has had a tough start to the season and will not be going to Oberhof. Tarjei Bø, who was not included for the sprint in Annecy last week, is back after winning the mass start.

Botnan added, "Vetle has had the weakest results from those who competed in France, and he hasn't been at his best earlier this winter either. The competition is tough, which is why Oberhof is off for him."

Arnekleiv has recently announced a break after a difficult season opening, but she is back for Oberhof. "Juni has had some good training sessions at home, and the reports from there are encouraging," says Botnan.

The competitions in Oberhof take place from January 9-12.
