Weak Norwegian pursuit in Anterselva – Jeanmonnot crushes competitors
The Norwegian biathlon women shot poorly in the pursuit race in Anterselva. Frenchwoman Lou Jeanmonnot took the top spot after an impressive performance.
Jeanmonnot, who leads the pursuit cup this season, completed the race alone, finishing 24.1 seconds ahead of her compatriot Julia Simon.
Ragnhild Femsteinevik and Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold ended with four penalty laps each in the pursuit race and competed to be the best Norwegian. Tandrevold finished 16th while Femsteinevik came in just behind.
Maren Kirkeeide started the pursuit first among the Norwegians, 58 seconds behind Jeanmonnot, but already at the first prone shooting, the 21-year-old shot three misses and fell far down the results list. In the end, she placed 21st with five misses.
Ida Lien started the pursuit in 50th and ended 41st with five misses.
The weekend concludes with a women's relay and a men's pursuit on Sunday. The races in Anterselva are the last before the World Championships in Lenzerheide, starting February 15.
