Sweden struggled early in the race after Johanna Skottheim incurred a penalty lap on the first leg, handing over nearly a two-minute deficit to France. The remaining Swedish team members - Sara Andersson, Anna Magnusson, and Hanna Öberg - did not have their best performances either, ultimately finishing two and a half minutes behind France.

• "We didn't perform well today; I think I will just forget this day," Öberg remarked after the race.
