Stars Come Back Strong – Secured Triple Norwegian Finish

Sturla Holm Lægreid made an impressive comeback in the pursuit race, earning a significant victory after a lackluster sprint performance by the Norwegian biathlon team. Despite starting in fifth place, Lægreid showcased his shooting skills, hitting nearly all his targets and managing the pressure as he approached the final stages of the race.
After a valuable first three shooting rounds where he missed just one target, Lægreid maintained his lead but faced challenges during the last shooting sequence. Dropping just one shot meant that he still surged ahead in front of the competition.
Meanwhile, older brothers Tarjei and Johannes Thingnes Bø exhibited remarkable determination, climbing the leaderboard impressively. Tarjei surged from 16th place to finish second, aided by only one penalty lap. In the end, Johannes completed a spectacular Norwegian performance finishing in third place after recovering from his 13th position.
The outcome contrasted sharply with the earlier sprint results, where French competitors had dominated the podium. This time, their best finisher, Éric Perrot, could only manage fifth place, while the sprint champion Quentin Fillon Maillet struggled with five missed shots, finishing sixth. The Norwegian team’s resilience and teamwork shone through, marking a triumphant day for the hosts at Oberhof.
