A New Chapter for Biathlon Prodigy
Julia Kink, a promising talent in the world of biathlon, is both eager and anxious as she prepares to make her highly anticipated debut at the World Cup level. The 20-year-old, who recently earned the title of double junior world champion, is gearing up to race against established athletes such as Julia Simon, Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold, and Elvira Öberg.

This opportunity, nominated by the German Ski Association for the events in Soldier Hollow from March 8 to 10, represents a significant milestone in Kink’s burgeoning career. She steps in for the injured Franziska Preuß, highlighting her rising prominence within the sport.

Kink’s season has been a rollercoaster ride; she faced challenges with her shooting accuracy earlier in the season but found her rhythm at the Junior World Championships, where she triumphed with gold medals in both the individual and team events. Following this remarkable success, she is eager to gain valuable experience on the World Cup circuit.

“I’m incredibly excited to experience World Cup competition, and traveling to the USA and Canada is a dream come true,” Kink shared enthusiastically.

Meanwhile, Kink’s teammate Danilo Riethmüller is also set to return to the World Cup after a strong debut performance in Antholz, where he secured a seventh-place finish. He, too, is looking forward to taking on the challenges awaiting them in North America.

The entire German team is determined to finish the season on a strong note following some inconsistent showings at Holmenkollen. DSV sport director Felix Bitterling has acknowledged the unique challenges posed by the high altitude of Soldier Hollow, underscoring the importance of these events for the athletes' future careers.
