An unexpected twist unfolded at the Swedish Summer Championships in Järna, as the women's biathlon race saw a remarkable victory from Anna-Karin Heijdenberg. With a perfect shooting performance and impressive skiing, Heijdenberg crossed the finish line a mere 3.5 seconds ahead of Johanna Skottheim, who also showcased flawless shooting skills. The highly favored Elvira Öberg had to settle for third place.

Former biathlete and current TV analyst Mona Brorsson lauded Heijdenberg's performance, calling it a "perfect race" and highlighting her strong and confident display throughout the event. Meanwhile, another front-runner, Hanna Öberg, finished in fifth place, hampered by two shooting errors that left her trailing by 47 seconds.

In the men's sprint, Sebastian Samuelsson captured the win despite a single shooting misstep, finishing an impressive 41 seconds ahead of Martin Ponsiluoma, who had two shooting errors. Jesper Nelin rounded out the top three, coming in 1 minute and 5 seconds behind Samuelsson.
