Oscar Andersson came incredibly close to achieving a significant milestone at the Roller Biathlon World Championships, finishing just 0.2 seconds away from a coveted bronze medal in the supersprint event.

Known for his rapid shooting, the 22-year-old Swede exhibited his skills throughout the competition. He kicked off the final round with a flawless shooting performance, keeping him firmly in the hunt for a medal.

However, a missed shot in his last round of shooting proved costly. Although Andersson initially secured third place with competitors trailing just over two seconds behind, the race ended in a frantic fight to the finish. Ultimately, he couldn’t hold on to his position, allowing Ukraine's Dmytro Pidrutjnyj to claim the gold medal, followed by compatriot Artjom Tyshchenko in silver and Czech Republic's Tomas Mikyska taking home the bronze.

Despite the disappointment, Andersson showcased remarkable speed on the shooting range, finishing nine seconds faster than World Cup skier Fabien Claude. Notably, Jesper Nelin faced elimination in the qualifying rounds of the competition.
