The Norwegian men's relay team finished second in the World Cup relay race held in Antholz, failing to match the performance of the French team. Norway's team, which faced challenges during the shooting phases, had to use multiple extra rounds to stay in the game. Notably, Vetle Sjåstad Christiansen managed to fend off Sweden's Sebastian Samuelsson in the final sprint, ensuring a second-place finish while Sweden took the third spot.

The French biathletes continued their impressive streak, having won the first three relays of the season, and they claimed the fourth victory in Antholz. The Norwegian squad required a total of ten extra rounds on the first three legs of the relay, indicating difficulties with shooting precision.

During the first leg, Lægreid opened for Norway but encountered challenges on the shooting range, needing a total of three extra rounds. Nonetheless, he handed over the baton with a lead of 3.5 seconds over Ukraine. However, France quickly overtook after the shooting segment despite the Norwegian team's previous advantages. Tarjei Bø, who had shown strong performance in a sprint event the day before, also struggled, needing multiple extra rounds during his shooting attempts.

Looking forward, the Norwegian relay team will close out the World Cup weekend in Antholz with a pursuit race on Sunday, marking the last competition before the World Championships in Lenzerheide, scheduled to begin on February 15.
