Norweger Dominant - Simon Eder Finishes 13th in Kontiolahti

In the first individual race of the Biathlon season, held in Kontiolahti, Norway dominated the event while Simon Eder showcased his remarkable shooting skills. The 41-year-old Salzburger Eder achieved a clean shooting record, hitting all 20 targets. He ultimately finished in 13th place, just 1:54.9 minutes behind the winner.

Endre Strömsheim led the race, completing it flawlessly, and secured victory ahead of renowned competitors Johannes Thingnes Bö and Sturla Holm Laegreid. Strömsheim finished with a narrow margin over Bö, who missed one shot during the competition. Eder’s strong performance positions him as a key athlete for Austria's Biathlon team this season, despite finishing just 5.5 seconds shy of a top ten finish.

Other Austrian athletes included Felix Leitner, who finished 40th after three shooting errors, David Komatz in 45th, Fredrik Mühlbacher in 62nd, and Patrick Jakob in 83rd.

This event marked the beginning of an exciting Biathlon season, highlighting the prowess of Norwegian athletes and the ongoing competition among international biathletes.
