Norwegian sensation Martin Uldal achieved a remarkable victory during the sprint competition in France, stating he did not expect to win at all. The 23-year-old showcased exceptional skills on both the shooting range and in the tracks, finishing the race remarkably close to World Cup leader Johannes Thingnes Bø, who finished just 1.4 seconds behind him after a fierce chase.

Uldal's impressive performance comes after strong showings at previous competitions, granting him renewed confidence in his abilities. Despite feeling less fit than in prior races, his competitors' mistakes at the shooting range allowed him to secure the top spot.

"It was a very tough race, and I did not expect to win at all. It felt difficult, but fortunately, the others missed some of their shots," Uldal shared, highlighting the unexpected yet thrilling nature of his victory.

Sebastian Samuelsson finished third, while Sturla Holm Lægreid placed fifth, adding to the Norwegian team's remarkable showing. The win marks a significant achievement for Uldal, who had previously participated in only two World Cup events.
