After concluding her impressive biathlon career in March, Mona Brorsson is set to take on a new role as an expert for SVT.

"I'm incredibly excited about this opportunity," she expressed.

In a career that spanned twelve seasons in the World Cup circuit, Brorsson's crowning achievement came with a relay gold medal at the 2022 Olympic Games in Beijing. Following her retirement at the age of 34, she hinted at her desire to step into an expert role in the future.

Brorsson will fill the shoes of Helena Ekholm in SVT's Vinterstudion, a role that was left vacant after Ekholm's retirement last spring.

A New Perspective on Biathlon

Mona reflected on her upcoming responsibilities, stating,
"This is my chance to stay connected to biathlon, but without all the stressful parts of the competition."

For SVT Sports, the addition of Brorsson complements the already strong expert duo of Björn Ferry and Elisabeth Högberg.

"We're thrilled to welcome Mona to our team. She will be a perfect fit for our ambitious plans for biathlon in Vinterstudion. Having just retired from being a national athlete, her insights and connections will greatly benefit our viewers," said Marcus Törngren, head of events at SVT Sports.

A Dynamic Trio

"Mona has great charisma, and her eagerness to continually improve is refreshing," he added. "With Björn Ferry and Elisabeth Högberg, we now have a formidable expert trio and an exciting winter in store."

Brorsson believes that her recent transition from athlete to expert will provide viewers with a unique edge.

"My aim is to foster deeper discussions. Having just exited the sport, I have very current knowledge and insights to share," she noted.

The upcoming season of Vinterstudion is set to kick off on November 16.
