Fabian Kaskel, the best DSV starter for Germany at the Junior Biathlon World Championships, secured a top ten finish as he placed seventh in the individual race. The 21‐year-old, who had previously won gold in the 10 km sprint at the Junior European Championships 2025, showed a confident performance in Östersund over the 15 km distance.

At the shooting range, Kaskel was nearly flawless, hitting 19 targets out of 20; however, his solitary error meant he was unable to remain in contention for a medal. In the skiing section, he acknowledged that there was still potential for improvement, commenting that the final lap was quite challenging. Ultimately, he finished 2:23.4 minutes behind Norway’s Sivert Gerhardsen—the latter of whom, along with bronze medalist James Pacal (SUI), remained error-free in shooting.

Other German athletes also took part in the mass start race. Linus Kesper finished 15th despite three shooting errors, narrowly ahead of his teammate Leonhard Pfund, who dropped to 18th after missing four shots despite a strong skiing time. Elias Seidl, the left-handed shooter from Ruhpolding, ended up in 23rd place, while Karl Schütze, affected by five errors, finished 50th. Overall, all five DSV starters were among the top 60 finishers in this challenging race.
