Karl Tabouret continues his rise in para-skiing. Already a silver medalist at the Nordic para-ski world championships in mid-February, the 21-year-old Frenchman has now secured the title in Trondheim, Norway. Competing in the standing category of the classic sprint, he clinched victory after a thrilling final stretch against Japan's Taiki Kawayoke. Tabouret recorded the third-best time in qualification and finished second in his semi-final this morning.
Benjamin Daviet also made headlines by claiming the bronze medal after narrowly qualifying for the final. "I am really happy with this bronze medal. I knew it would be tough to catch up with Karl and Kawayoke in the finals, as they are the best classic skiers on the circuit. This medal is especially rewarding after the summer I spent focusing on rowing. To see myself back at this level is a real pleasure!" he stated.
This event concludes two days of para-ski world championships, which, for the first time, were integrated with the able-bodied championships. The organizers aimed to enhance visibility for the discipline and capture the audience's interest.
