At the Junior Biathlon World Championships in Östersund, France enjoyed a double success. Celia Henaff claimed the world title in the individual event, remaining error‐free across four shooting bouts. Her teammate Amandine Mengin had to settle for second place with a 22.5‐second deficit, while Italian Fabiana Carpella earned the bronze medal.

For the German athletes, a podium finish was out of reach. The best German shooter, 19‐year‐old Alma Siegismund, finished in 12th place. “I am very satisfied with having made only one mistake,” said the promising talent, who impressed both on the skiing course and at the shooting range. Nonetheless, after a 12.5 kilometer race, she was 2 minutes and 49 seconds behind the winner.

Teammate Lotta de Buhr, who incurred three shooting errors, ended up in 14th place, remarking that she was relieved by her strong skiing performance despite the extra mistakes. Lea Zimmermann, also with three missed targets, finished 21st and expressed satisfaction despite the ups and downs of her race, though she admitted that her performance was not perfect. Similarly, Charlotte Gallbronner, who missed four shots, finished 28th with a significant time deficit.

The event underscored the high level of competition at the junior international stage, with standout performances from the French team and challenging conditions for the German athletes.
