Johannes Thingnes Bø Discusses His Training Diary: "Sebbe Would Be Surprised... Angry!"

This weekend, Johannes Thingnes Bø and his brother Tarjei are participating in their final competitions in front of their hometown crowd at Holmenkollen.

SVT Sport has conducted an exclusive interview with both brothers to summarize their remarkable careers.

The era of skiing is coming to an end, with the two brothers collectively earning 87 championship medals. Both have won the overall World Cup, and Johannes can be called one of the greatest skiers of all time.

"For me, he is the best skier we have ever seen. I’m one of the few who has competed against the very best when they were at their peak and felt it physically," says older brother Tarjei Bø.

"Of course, there is room for debate about who is the best. But Johannes has had the highest level and has been the most extreme talent. I can truly compare him to Ole Einar Bjørndalen, Martin Fourcade, and Emil Hegle Svendsen."

For many years, it has been said that Johannes Thingnes Bø doesn’t train as much as many other biathletes, yet no outsider has gotten to see his training diary as he hasn’t recorded much.

Do you have fewer training hours than others, do you think?

"Yes, yes. I think I have the least in the World Cup," says Johannes Thingnes Bø.

Sick Last Week – Back for the Finale

Thingnes Bø had to withdraw from last week’s competitions due to fever. Now he is gearing up for the last three races of his career.

"I wanted to be 100 percent prepared for the finale. When I’m sick, it works best to eat, sleep, and be by myself. So, I’ve had nice days at the hotel with the spa and have felt good," he laughed at the press conference this morning in Oslo.

"Historically, I tend to be in good training seven days after illness. If you count from the days I got sick in Pokljuka, I think it should be fine here in Holmenkollen."
