Johannes Thingnes Bø has had a tough start to the season. After a disappointing performance where he placed 17th, 1.38 minutes behind the winner Endre Strømsheim at Sjusjøen, Bø reflected on his struggles with two missed shots in the first round and two penalty laps in the second shooting.
He admitted, "It was a wake-up call this weekend. I thought I would be better on the course and at the shooting range, so this disappointing start tells me I’m not quite ready. I need to wake up and do it properly now. I hope this will serve as a jolt for me."
Strømsheim performed excellently, gaining a victory ahead of his teammate Vetle Sjåstad Christiansen by 25 seconds, showcasing strong skills on the course. Bø expressed enthusiasm for improvement moving forward, despite the rocky start to the season.
