In a dramatic turn of events during the women’s relay race at Antholz, controversy erupted when Swedish biathlete Hanna Öberg inadvertently collided with her Norwegian rival Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold just before the finish line. As Öberg attempted to overtake Tandrevold, the latter was knocked down after Öberg’s ski made contact, ultimately securing the victory for Sweden.

After the race, Öberg expressed her sincerest apologies, saying, "I feel so, so sorry for Ingrid. I truly didn't mean to take her down and never intended to win like this." Fans took to social media to express their outrage, with one user declaring, "Öberg stole the victory. Disgrace to her."

In contrast, Tandrevold, who managed to keep her composure amidst the chaos, accepted the situation with grace, stating, "We were quite close to each other. It's hard to determine who is at fault. I can be upset, but I rarely get truly angry. The others provided us a fantastic chance, and I felt the victory was within reach."

Adding to the excitement, the Austrian team, featuring Tamara Steiner, Anna Gandler, Anna Juppe, and Anna Andexer, finished in 14th place after two penalty rounds. The spotlight now shifts as the biathletes prepare for the upcoming World Championships set to take place from February 12 to 23 in Lenzerheide, Switzerland.
