Historic Victory for Finland in Mixed Relay

Finland has claimed its first victory in a mixed relay at the biathlon event with Tero Seppälä and Suvi Minkkinen. "Now I cheer for Finland!" exclaimed commentator Björn Ferry. The race was a thriller, contested closely by Finland, France, and Germany. However, on the final shooting segment, the Finnish team held strong under pressure with Minkkinen hitting all her shots.

Minkkinen expressed her joy: "I am so happy to have shot perfectly in the last segment. It's fantastic, I have no words." Her teammate, Seppälä, echoed her sentiment, stating, "Today was a good day."

Finland took the lead following an impressive second-to-last shooting where they avoided penalties, needing only five extra shots in total. Meanwhile, Sweden, represented by Viktor Brandt and Anna Magnusson, finished in twelfth place after a disappointing performance, struggling with two penalty rounds and the use of 15 extra shots. Brandt reflected, "It’s a nightmare on the first leg. You control but it's tough to shoot and keep missing. You want to make up for it and end up over-compensating."

This win marks a significant moment in Finnish biathlon history as they outperform traditional rivals in the mixed relay format, much to the delight of the fans and commentators alike.
