Half-Norwegian Éric (23) dominated the Norwegian men in Sunday’s mass start at the Kontiolahti biathlon event.

On the last shooting round, it came down to Perrot, Sturla Holm Lægreid, and Germany’s Danilo Riethmüller, while a group including Vetle Sjåstad Christiansen and Vebjørn Sørum arrived a few seconds later.

Perrot performed the best, achieving a perfect shooting score, while Lægreid and Riethmüller each missed one shot.

Perrot hit 19 out of 20 targets, winning the mass start by a significant margin.

Perrot is the son of former French biathlete Franck Perrot and former Norwegian biathlete Tone Marit Oftedal.

In the group behind, Quinton Fillon-Maillet hit all his targets in the last shooting round, while both Sørum and Sjåstad Christiansen missed once.

There was an intense battle for second place between Holm Lægreid and Fillon-Maillet, but the Frenchman proved stronger in the final stretch, securing a double French victory.

Four Norwegians finished in the top ten: Sørum took fifth place, Sjåstad Christiansen came sixth, Endre Strømsheim seventh, Tarjei Bø eighth, and Johannes Thingnes Bø ninth.

"It was a somewhat disappointing race overall. I don’t think the aiming in the standing shot was that bad given the three misses. I feel it was a bit unjustified," said Thingnes Bø to TV 2 after the race.
