German Shock Moment Before Biathlon Final

A fire broke out in the DSV's wax truck on the way to Oslo for the Biathlon World Cup final. The incident occurred on the highway, and thanks to quick action from the drivers, the fire was extinguished.

In the lead-up to the weekend's Biathlon World Cup finals in Oslo, the truck underwent hours of repairs overnight to ensure that it could continue its journey. The DSV expressed its gratitude to the team at the repair shop who worked tirelessly through the night to make this possible.

"Thank you to the team from 'mantruckandbus' in Peißen (Landsberg) for pulling an all-nighter for us, making our continued journey possible! Without you, we would have faced a real challenge. Now we head to Oslo with full power, ready for a decisive week!" the team shared on social media.

Franziska Preuß is among the competitors fighting for the overall World Cup title, aiming to secure the first German overall win since Laura Dahlmeier in the 2016/2017 season. Preuß currently holds a narrow 20-point lead over French competitor Lou Jeanmonnot as they head into the final weekend of competition.

The World Cup finals will feature sprints on Friday, followed by pursuits on Saturday and mass starts on Sunday. Biathlon on SPORT1 invites viewers to stay updated on the competition.
