German Biathlon Men Miss Again at the Shooting Range

The German men's biathlon team failed to match the impressive performance of their female counterparts in Hochfilzen and decidedly missed the chance to podium. At the World Cup event, the quartet of Justus Strelow, Simon Kaiser, Danilo Riethmüller, and Philipp Nawrath managed an unremarkable fifth place after accumulating 13 spare rounds and one penalty lap. France celebrated its second consecutive victory ahead of Norway.

During the 4x7.5-kilometer relay race on December 15, 2024, Strelow had a promising start but faltered alongside the team. The French team, led by Fabien Claude and Eric Perrot, completed the race in 1:23:04 hours with Norway successful in their chase, finishing in second place. The German team, while aiming for a higher finish, ultimately fell short of expectation and satisfaction.

Strelow's teammate Kaiser, making his World Cup debut, felt the pressures of the event as the German team struggled to find its rhythm amid challenging conditions. Despite these obstacles, the German team showed potential and resilience, anticipating improvement in future outings.
