A Fond Farewell to Matthias Dorfer

Matthias Dorfer, the accomplished German biathlete, has announced his retirement from the sport. He capped off his career at the German Championships held in Altenberg, where he showcased his skills by finishing 6th in the pursuit race. After crossing the finish line, Dorfer was met with enthusiastic celebrations from his teammates, including the renowned biathlete Franziska Preuß, who honored him by launching confetti cannons and giving him a heartfelt embrace.
The German Ski Association took to social media to recognize his retirement, extending their congratulations on the conclusion of his athletic journey and acknowledging his valuable contributions to the sport. Throughout his career, Dorfer made four appearances in the World Cup, beginning his journey in 2016. Most of his competitive experience, however, was gained through participation in national events and the IBU Cup.
