Ingrid Landremark Faces Setback with Hand Fracture

Ingrid Landremark, a dedicated biathlete, is currently facing a challenge after sustaining a fracture in her right hand during a fall at the Lofoten Skyrace this past Saturday. This unfortunate injury has prompted her to seek out creative and alternative training methods while she recovers.

After noticing something was amiss, Landremark confirmed her worries when doctors diagnosed her with a fracture, resulting in her hand being placed in a cast for an undetermined length of time.

Team doctor Aasne Fenne Hoksrud provided insight into the nature of the injury, describing it as straightforward and situated in a "favorable location," away from the wrist, which could have complicated her situation. She advised that Landremark must wear the cast for a minimum of three weeks, followed by a support brace for several more weeks before gradually resuming full use of her hand. As a result, this injury will inevitably alter her planned training regimen for the summer.

Despite the setback, Dr. Hoksrud remains optimistic about Landremark's recovery. She confidently stated, "Knowing her character, she will emerge stronger from this experience." The timeline indicates it will take approximately four to five weeks before Landremark can bear weight on her hand again, marking a significant period of rest and rehabilitation ahead.
