Explaining the Time Loss: - Heart Troubles
Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold shot 19 out of 20 during the short normal distance race in Kontiolahti on Wednesday but experienced an unusual time loss in the track before the final shooting. After the race, she provided an explanation for her performance issue.

Tandrevold described her condition post-race, saying, "I am not doing well. I had some difficulties today that I couldn't fully control. It's a bit frustrating and not fun. It obviously ruins the race. When there are things that you cannot control, it becomes very disheartening."

She further explained, "I had some heart issues during the second prone shooting. That's why I shot so slowly. My heart was racing unexpectedly. I know it’s not dangerous, but I had to stop at the top of the hill to regain control."

Tandrevold has previously opened up about her heart problems.

Despite the challenges, she was the highest-placed Norwegian, finishing in 17th place. In a surprising turn, Swedish athlete Ella Halvarsson secured second place, with Elvira Öberg rounding out the top three. Halvarsson expressed her excitement, stating, "It feels fantastic. It went much better than I expected and I am very happy. I am really surprised; I never thought it would go this well."

The men’s individual races kicked off in Finland with Endre Strømsheim achieving an impressive run, winning ahead of Johannes Thingnes Bø and Sturla Holm Lægreid. The upcoming women's sprint is scheduled for this Friday, followed by a men's sprint on Saturday, and both gender’s mass start will conclude the Kontiolahti week on Sunday.
