Endre Strømsheim Withdraws from World Cup Races Following Disappointing Sprint Finish

Endre Strømsheim (27) will not participate in the upcoming individual and mass start races in France, as reported by NRK. This decision follows his underwhelming performance in the biathlon sprint, where he placed only 55th. NRK confirmed the withdrawal from the national team's head coach Per-Arne Botnan, who noted that "things are not working optimally." Strømsheim aims to take a break during the Christmas holidays to undergo tests and evaluate his physical condition, stating that his body is not responding as expected.

Despite a strong start to the season with a win in the normal distance event in Kontiolahti that initially placed him at the top of the World Cup standings, he has since dropped to eighth place overall. This weekend's races in Annecy-Le Grand Bornand would further hinder his standing.

Rekruttløperen Martin Uldal will lead the team into Saturday's pursuit race, having achieved a surprising sprint victory against Johannes Thingnes Bø.
